Overview

About this course

Asbestos is still the single greatest cause of work-related deaths in Great Britain. Any building built or refurbished before 2000 could contain it.

This awareness course explains what asbestos is, how it harms health, where it is found, the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and what to do if you find or disturb suspect material.

The course runs entirely in your browser. You can stop at any point and pick up where you left off, and once you pass the final assessment you can download a PDF certificate straight away.

Who it's for

  • Electricians, plumbers and joiners
  • Roofers, painters and decorators
  • General builders and maintenance staff
  • Anyone whose work could disturb the fabric of a building
